Oh, Jimmy Hopkins…

This last week of my vacation I have spent at Bullworth Academy together with troublesome Jimmy Hopkins! Bully/Canis Canem Edit is still a pretty good game, I’m having a lot of fun with the dark humor and utter sillyness of the game :) And it inspired me to doodle Jimmy boy in my sketch book. I liked it enough to make something better out of it in Photoshop:

Decided to draw something mora “advanced” (meaning with a little more detailed colouring and a proper background), and this happened after a few days on and off working:

Tried a slightly different technique than usual with very thin lines an another kind of shading that I usually do…I don’t think it turned out too horrible and it was fun drawing something just for fun :)

Vacation times

Hey…my summer vacation starts about now and I will enjoy being free for three weeks :) Next week, I’ll move for the fourth time in a year’s time, but this time it’s a more permanent (at least one year) solution. I hope some parts of my vacation will be spent doing what I do best though: drawing dudes with sideburns and glasses:

Blender 05 FINAL

My first Blender animation is finally done. I tweaked some movements, added some eyeball movement and fixed the texture a bit. For a very rushed job made by someone who hasn’t touched a 3Dprogram for a year, I think this is pretty decent ;)

Hopefully, I’ll take some time later on and make something even better in Blender.

I’ve started the animation business now:

I’ve learned a lot during this, and since it was over a year ago I did something like this (model, rig and animate), I had forgotten some simple rules that would have done my journey easier, but at least I’ve learned a lot about Blender! :) I’ll post the conclusion, a more finished clip, on Sunday, I’m guessing!

Yesterday, I decided I was done with the rigging and skinning, and here’s the result:

This facial rig is purely bones,even for cheeks and eyelids. Today, I’ll maybe look into blend shapes (or the Blender version of bland shapes) and try to start animating.

Today I figured out some rigging and skinning with the help of this tutorial. I still have a bit to go with the skinning obviously, and the rigging isn’t the best, but this will be a VERY speeded project ;)

Tomorrow, I hope I’ll finish the skinning and will be able to start working with the actual animation.

At the moment, I am trying to learn Blender. I am supposed to send in an animation of some sort in about a week and I’m horribly late with this assignment. Also, I am really rusty with 3D modelig, it seems like. But I will try, every day for a week now, to post some WIP with this, stay tuned!

This weekend, I’ve completed some basic modeling and the UV map process. As you can see, this guy is nothing fancy. I’ll maybe work more on his texture if I feel like I have the time for that:

I end up whipping up a pretty decent panel for my comic =) I mean, it’s a comic I do in my free time…I personally don’t expect all pages and panels to look totally awesome, but still I get so happy when I manage to whip up a panel that actually looks exactly as I visioned it:

Other than that, I have my hands full with work and stuff. Trying to become friends with PHP and MYSQL…they seem friendlier than I visioned them to be ;)
